So You Have to Move Your Office. Now What?

05/15/2012 9:03 AM | Deleted user

If this your first move, this can be an overwhelming question. There are many pieces to the relocation process: finding new space, re-use of furniture, phone + data, scheduling, etc. Most small to mid-sized companies do not have dedicated facilities personnel or the budget to hire a move manager. Therefore the person placed in charge of the relocation already has his or her own set of duties and responsibilities. When “move coordinator” is added, the other roles are bound to suffer. The easiest and most cost effective way to reduce this burden is to use your office mover as a resource.

As office moving professionals we are involved in the relocation process on a daily basis. We have seen what works in the office relocation process and more importantly what does not. However, in most cases the mover is one of the last people brought into the mix. Most companies that specialize in office moving will have service offerings for project management, use and/or liquidation of furniture, computer disconnect/re-connection, as well as other industry contacts that could be of benefit.

Reach out to an office moving professional early in the move process. You will be glad you did.
