May 22, 2012Movers in each city across the nation can vary a lot in the quality of services they provide, levels of expertise and how they price moves.
Not all movers are commercial office movers. This is evident by the number of movers that entered the market a few years ago when we had the last economic down turn.
Homes were not selling and many movers that primarily handled house hold moves then tried to become commercial movers, some were successful many we not.
There are many differences between professional commercial movers such as our CRN members and local house hold movers.
Estimating a local house hold move is very different then planning and estimating an office move project.
The moving crews experience in handling items not typically found in a home such as large servers, complex systems furniture, and large executive type furniture is very different.
Moving from a home to another home is very different then moving from the 20th floor of an office building with elevators, time constraints, loading docks, property managers as so on.
Typically most office buildings require to be named as an additional insured on an Insurance certificate and require high levels of coverage to perform services in their buildings. A lot of local type movers may not have the proper limits the property managers require.
